Points in permanent bronze monuments mark the Offset Tram Line. Usually the centerline of the machine is used in establishing the Offset Tram Line. It is set to a measured distance from, and parallel with, the centerline, thus the term "offset". The idea is to place the Offset Tram Line in a serviceable aisle way close to the machine. The number of monuments placed along the machine is dependent upon obstacles, the critical components needing alignment, the length of the machine and the floor itself.
